Pigeon Key Historic Site

Located off of 7 mile bridge on the bayside.

It is he historic old Railroad Island, located in the middle of the famous Old Seven Mile Bridge, made famous by Henry Flagler, was the location of the work camp and village for the hardy souls that constructed, operated and maintained the bridge itself, and is currently undergoing restoration of the historic buildings.

The Island has a number of century-old buildings that are being restored by the Pigeon Key Foundation and are on the registry of historic places. You can get there by boarding a miniature train (which can be boarded at Knights Key on the west end of Marathon) taking you over the old 7 Mile Bridge.
